SEMCO STYLE EXPERIENCE GAME
What is it?
Imagine an organization where everyone is busy with themselves, the customer is forgotten and cooperation between people is not very good. Sound familiar? Experience what it does to you when you step into the shoes of the customer, employee or the director. During the Semco Style Experience Game you will learn to understand why people, in a certain role, suddenly start to show different behavior. You learn how to understand behavior patterns, how you can build smooth cooperation and customer focus – and why all this is so difficult.
About Semco StyleExperience Game
The Semco Style Experience Game is a whole-day in-person activity where participants are randomly assigned a role (top management, middle management, customer, or employee) and are tasked with making their own role successful. Simulations are done in rounds of 13 minutes. After every two rounds, time is spent on reflection, and we extensively consider the question, “How does each role feel about the others?” This creates a better understanding of what the organization looks like from another perspective.
Part of the program is devoted to better organization, with Semco Style as a handle. With the central question – “How do you come to an organization in which autonomy and entrepreneurship are encouraged, and the customer is central?” We also elaborate on organizations as a system based on the work of Barry Oshry.
Experiments with other structures and behavior are conducted on the basis of practical examples, tips, and experiences in all kinds of organizations. Because, although much of the behavior in organizations is predictable, that does not mean that such counterproductive behavior is inevitable. Every employee, manager, director, and customer has the opportunity and responsibility to make the organization a success.
After experiencing different roles, we go to the application within your own organization. Which lessons and tips do you take home, and how do you want to get started with implementing them? By rotating around conversation tables at a fast pace, we ensure that this last part of the program is completed with good energy.
